Lleyton Hewitt has crashed out of the US Open, losing to American Andy Roddick in straight sets 6-3, 7-5, 6-4. Hewitt had no answer to the power of Roddick, who has been resurgent since taking on Jimmy Connors as his coach. Hewitt had a set point in the second set, but Roddick came up with an unreturnable serve. In the third set, Hewitt was furious with himself for not taking advantage of another break point when leading 4-3. But Roddick held serve, and then immediately broke Hewitt\'s serve. With Roddick serving about 220 kmh, the rest was just a matter of time.
