That old Communists don\'t like it is a given. But that it would provoke irritation, if not hatred, in the cultural ranks of today\'s Russian government is a completely new phenomenon. The works banned from traveling to Paris can be divided in three categories: those that appear to Russian bureaucrats to be pornographic; those perceived as political provocation, and those seen as an open challenge to the Orthodox Church. Such sensitivities seem absurd at the start of the 21st century.
